Courage
Reaching out and asking for help is challenging. You are courageous and should be proud of yourself for taking this step. Beginning this relationship is something that takes bravery, and I am honored to be a part of your life journey.
What is therapy like with me?
If you choose to take this next step in your life, here is what working with me is like. My goal is to build a strong relationship built on trust, empathy, and collaboration to help you reach your goals. Your values and beliefs are integral to who you are. We will incorporate these into setting our goals for the future you envision for yourself.
I will focus on encouraging you in all the various areas of your life where you may feel stuck or disheartened. I am your cheerleader.
You may struggle to understand patterns of behavior, why you feel anxious, or why you feel stuck. I am here to help you increase your awareness about these issues so you can create meaningful changes in your life.
I will also focus on collaboration and giving you autonomy in how each session will look. Sometimes we will follow our plan, but life happens. If something is urgent in your life, we will address it. This space is flexible. This space is for you. Whatever you need this space for, I will be there for you.
Throughout the process, we will learn about your history, beliefs, values, and the many aspects of your wellness. By having a deep understanding of who you are, change is possible. Through realistic changes in thoughts and behaviors, you will get closer to feeling like your idealized self.
This all starts with you taking the courageous step of reaching out.
What does the actual process look like?
First, you will start with a consultation over the phone with our Care coordinator to determine if we are a good fit to work together, why you are seeking therapy at this time, and what your goals are.
After this, we will have our first session where I will spend time getting to know you. In this session, I will ask a variety of questions to get a holistic view of who you are now and your history.
As we continue through the therapeutic process, you may notice more of your thoughts and feelings. We will work together to better understand these, and how they are contributing to the issues you are facing in the present. Once we identify these, we will work on changing some thoughts and behaviors, so you can reach your goals.
This may be challenging, but it will be worth it to reach your idealized self
What do I use to make the transformation happen?
I practice from an Adlerian and Individual Psychology perspective, and integrate other therapy approaches as needed. Adlerian counseling focuses on you as a holistic individual. We will work as a team to set goals, understand your past, and make changes in the present to help you reach those goals. I will encourage you through any difficulties and listen with empathy and nonJudgement.
Some other approaches I may incorporate include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for disrupting unhelpful patterns in your life. I also may use Solution Focused questions to help you better understand your goals. These therapeutic practices are evidence-based approaches that are proven to help you reach your goals.
Wondering whether now is the right time for therapy?
Would you like to start feeling more in touch with your idealized self? Now is the time. You will know when you are ready to start making a change. Listen to your intuition and take the leap.
How I got started in therapy…
Just like you, I have experienced my own struggles with mental health. Through my own therapy journey, I have identified patterns of thoughts and feelings that contributed to unhelpful patterns.
I am more in touch with myself, my beliefs, and who I hope to be. I am still on this journey and am constantly seeking ways to grow and extend compassion to myself.
I learned through this journey that I wanted to help others have the same experience. To know they are worth time, energy, and space to become their idealized self. Thus, I started my journey to becoming a professional counselor.
My background experience…
- B.A. Psychology – University of Tennessee – Knoxville (2020-2023)
- Ed.S. Professional Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Concentration – Middle Tennessee State University (2024-Present)
What I like to do when I’m not doing therapy…

Spending time with my friends and family.
Playing and cuddling with my cats any chance I get!
