Brainspotting Therapy
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-based therapy which helps you process and release emotional pain, trauma, and stuck patterns–often more deeply and efficiently than traditional talk therapy alone. Brainspotting isn’t just for trauma—it can also help enhance creativity and improve performance in areas like sports, music, acting, and public speaking. By accessing deeper brain areas, it helps people break through mental blocks, reduce anxiety, and perform at their best.
Discovered by Dr. David Grand in 2003, Brainspotting works by identifying specific “brainspots”—eye positions that correlate with where trauma, emotions, or stress are stored in the brain and body. By focusing on these spots, while staying connected with your therapist in a safe, grounded space, your brain can begin to naturally heal and reprocess overwhelming experiences.

How It Works
When something distressing happens, the brain sometimes stores that experience in a “frozen” or unprocessed way. These unprocessed memories can lead to anxiety, depression, body tension, or emotional reactivity—often long after the event. In Brainspotting the therapist doesn’t direct the process but allows for what naturally comes up for the client. The brain and body then leads the healing in its own way, at its own pace.
During a Brainspotting session:
You’ll be gently guided to find an eye position that connects with your inner experience.
We’ll use this focus point, along with mindfulness and attunement, to allow the brain and body to process what’s been held.
You don’t have to retell or relive painful memories for healing to happen. Your body and brain do the work, often below the level of conscious thought.

A Different Kind of Therapy
Many people say Brainspotting feels different—more intuitive, body-centered, and even meditative. It meets you where you are and helps the mind and body reconnect in a way that feels natural and empowering.
